Bayern Munich Transfer News: Yannick Carrasco Interest High, Price Revealed
Bayern Munich are reportedly ready to launch a summer bid for Atletico Madrid winger Yannick Carrasco.
According to Amalia Fra of AS, the Belgium international has caught the eye of Bayern boss Carlo Ancelotti, who is keen to acquire the 23-year-old.
It's suggested the German giants would have to pay around €50 million (£44 million) to prise Carrasco away from the La Liga outfit.
Although he's become a key part of the Atletico side since his arrival from AS Monaco in 2015, all is not well with the player in Madrid, according to Fra, and Bayern are considering him as an alternative to Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez.
"His discontent at the end of the season was clear, following disagreements with Diego Simeone's coaching staff," she noted. "Carrasco was also unhappy with where he was being played, and with his regular substitution, for example in the clash against Alaves at Mendizorroza."

This angst may be good news for Bayern's pursuit, but Atletico's ban on signing players until January is said to be a possible stumbling block. It means they would not be able to replace Carrasco in the upcoming window.
As noted by Kieran Canning of Agence France-Presse, the Belgian was used as a split striker by Atletico for spells last term but didn't always impress:
Indeed, overall, his best form while wearing Atletico colours has come from a wide position, as Carrasco is capable of offering a blistering threat from either flank.
Physically, he's taller than a typical winger, and that somatotype coupled with his natural speed makes the Atletico man tough to stop at full flight. Carrasco has frequently chipped in with goals, too, netting a total of 12 times in La Liga and UEFA Champions League matches last term.

Given there are suggestions Bayern are also eyeing Sanchez, Ancelotti looks to be on the hunt for a dynamic and adaptable player to call upon in the final third. In the wide positions, the team remain reliant on the veteran wing duo of Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery, as we can see courtesy of Squawka Football:
He may not be as talented as Sanchez, but Carrasco would be a fine acquisition for Bayern, especially with Douglas Costa linked with a possible move to Juventus, per Tom Farmery of the Mail Online.
The Atletico man would offer competition to Robben, Ribery and Kingsley Coman on the flanks and would be adept playing further forward in support of Robert Lewandowski, too.
However, the La Liga club cashing in and leaving themselves short for the first part of the 2017-18 season is surely an unlikely prospect.
