Let The Face Turn Begin! Ted DiBiase Pins Orton In Tag Action On Raw!
Last night on a suprisingly decent Monday Night Raw the slow start to Ted DiBiase's face turn began!
It all started with a Triple Threat Match to get into the 7 on 7 tag team match at Bragging Rights. Let me catch you up to speed.
At Bragging Rights there will be a 7 on 7 tag team match for Bragging Rights. The two captains of their teams are Chris Jericho for SmackDown and Triple H for Raw.
The Raw team is almost complete. It has HBK, Triple H, Jack Swagger, Big Show, Kofi Kingston, Cody Rhodes and one TBD(match will be between Henry and Masters).
The interesting thing is not who will win, but how Rhodes got on the team.
For a spot on the team there was a Triple Threat Match between John Cena, Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes. When it finally looked like Cena may have been turning it in his favour there came the WWE Champion, Randy Orton.
He distracted Cena while DiBiase got rid of him. Then Cody Rhodes rolled DiBiase into a cover where he got the three count on him getting him a spot on the team. Out of all people Randy Orton had to play peace maker between the two.
Then as Rhodes and DiBiase were going off at each other our guest hostess came on the titantron. She said that they will tag up later tonight in the main event against two other superstars that aren't getting along at the moment.
Those two superstars turned out to be Randy Orton and John Cena!
Next came the backstage segment between Legacy. Orton told the two that he would keep himself out of the ring so Ted and Cody could make it a two on one handicap match. Ted agreed, but Cody was silent for a moment.
Ted pointed out that Cody was thinking what it would do to him if he pinned both Orton and himself in the same night. Rhodes replied that DiBiase is actually the one thinking about redeeming himself by pinning Randy. Randy told both of them if any of them are actually thinking that, they should reconsider.
In the main event Orton's plan was working perfectly. He did not tag himself in and Cena was forced to wrestle alone. There came the point when Cena fought out of it and while Orton was distracted Cena made the tag and slid out of the ring so Orton couldn't tag himself back in.
So Legacy and Orton fought until Orton made an unexpected tag back to Cena. So Cena fought, what else could he do?
Cena had things in hand. He was going for the five knuckle shuffle when Orton tag himself in. Cena had not realized this. Orton came into the ring and started attacking Cena.
It was going well until DiBiase rolled him into the pin and got the 1, 2, 3! Orton was stunned and ticked off! DiBiase exited the ring as Orton was shouting at him red mad.
When he turned back around he got caught in a Attitude Adjustment. After the match we also found out that next week Triple H will fight John Cena in what could possibly be his last match on Raw.
The exciting thing is what kind of reaction will Orton have next week to DiBiase pinning Orton? Will he be mad? Will he let it go and turn his attention to Cena? Well what we do know is this is the start of DiBiase face turn no doubt.
First he gets betrayed by his tag team partner, Cody Rhodes. Then he goes around and pins his Legacy leader, Randy Orton. This was a great start to the turn no doubt. It was exciting and unexpected.
I mean I expected for DiBiase to betray Rhodes, but to have him pin Orton is much better! I just hope WWE doesn't screw up on one of the WWE's future main eventers. Ladies and gentleman, enjoy your day!
