Russell Westbrook got one step closer to history in the Oklahoma City Thunder's 113-101 defeat to the Charlotte Hornets on Sunday.

After the game, Westbrook said his focus isn't on catching the Hall of Fame guard: "We gotta win. That's my thoughts."
The six-time All-Star is still averaging a triple-double a game—31.9 points, 10.6 rebounds and 10.4 assists. NBA.com noted what Westbrook needs to do to ensure he keeps the mark through the end of the regular season:
In the most recent edition of NBA.com's MVP standings, Sekou Smith listed Westbrook first, ahead of Houston Rockets guard James Harden.
Should Westbrook maintain his triple-double pace, overlooking him for the honor would be difficult, even though Harden is having an equally impressive season in his own right.
