Troy got week six of the college football season started with a win over Middle Tennessee State. A special shout-out in the Trojans 31-7 win over the Blue Raiders to Maurice Greer.

Greer is a cancer survivor and is restarting his football career after beating testicular cancer. He had his best game of the season rushing for 80 yards on seven carries.

This is a real feel good story and good luck to Greer for the rest of the season. Now, on to the rest of week six games in college football.

Week six has some very big games and we will learn how good a lot of teams really are. This is a look of the best games in week six.

Thursday Night

Nebraska Cornhuskers vs. Missouri Tigers

Nebraska comes into this contest a last second touchdown from being undefeated. A late Virginia Tech touchdown in the final seconds is the only blemish on their record.

Missouri enters this game without a loss so far this season. The Tigers have to be one of the biggest surprises this season.

This is the Big-12 opener for both schools.

Who needs the win more: Both

The Cornhuskers want to be considered a national power once more. This is their chance to get a big win on prime time television to show the rest of the nation they are back. A loss could mean Nebraska has to wait one more year.

The Tigers were supposed to be rebuilding this season. The core of last season’s team all moved on to the NFL or graduation. Missouri can jump into the talk of upper echelon teams that do not rebuild but reload.

Saturday and Saturday Night

Boston College Eagles vs. Virginia Tech Hokies

Boston College is doing better than anyone thought after all the offseason turmoil. The Eagles lost their only game on the road at Clemson. This is just their second road trip and they need to show they can play well away from home.

The Hokies are an opening week loss to Alabama from being undefeated. Virginia Tech is the only team to beat the Hurricanes from Miami this season.

Who needs the win more: Both

Boston College is right in the mix for the ACC Atlantic division title. A win over Virginia Tech would be a big feather in the cap for this program after all that has gone on. This team has to watch out for a letdown after an emotional win last week.

The Hokies are not only in the mix for an ACC Coastal title they are in the running for a spot in the national championship game. A win here only helps their case and a loss would mean a chance at aBCS game but no more than that.

Auburn Tigers vs. Arkansas Razorbacks

The Tigers are one of three teams in the SEC West that are undefeated. Auburn has gone from a team everyone thought was rebuilding to a dark horse for the West.

Arkansas has the offense to be a great team. The Razorbacks also have the defense to be a lousy team. This team is still looking for its first SEC win.

Who needs the win more: Both

The Tigers are proving that hiring Gene Chizik was a good idea. A win would make Auburn bowl eligible, which is something most people did not see this year. Also with the win, the Tigers would be 3-0 in SEC play before facing the power houses of the West.

Arkansas is 0-2 in SEC play and could use a conference win. The Razorbacks would love to ruin Auburns' perfect record as well. A loss here could make getting bowl eligible hard for coach Bobby Petrino in year two at Arkansas.

West Virginia Mountaineers vs. Syracuse Orange

The Mountaineers were expected to take a step back last year after Rich Rodriguez left for Michigan. Then again this year after the graduation of Pat White, but all West Virginia has done is kept winning.

Syracuse had a bad game last week against South Florida but has been a better team. The Orange can show vast improvement against one of the best teams in the conference.

Who needs the win more: West Virginia
