Ingram Active vs. Buccaneers

Sunday, Dec. 11

The Saints announced Ingram will be available to play against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 14.

Latest on Ingram's Practice Status

Friday, Dec. 9

The Saints announced Ingram was limited in Friday's practice session.

According to the team's official injury report, Ingram did not practice on Dec. 8. Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times reported that he put in a limited session on Dec. 7.

Ingram Has Had Strong 2016 for Saints

Ingram is enjoying perhaps his best all-around season for the Saints since the team used a first-round pick on him in 2011. He's amassed 758 rushing yards and put together several big games, including more than 170 total yards in Week 9, despite usually having to share the backfield workload with Tim Hightower.

However, he was held to just 37 yards on seven carries against the Detroit Lions in Week 13:

Injuries are one thing that has held him back throughout his career. He entered 2016 having played all 16 regular-season games just once in his first five years.

Most recently, the 26-year-old Alabama product dealt with a toe injury.

If the latest ailment forces Ingram to miss game action in the future, Hightower would likely handle the majority of the touches at running back in his absence. It could also lead to a little more involvement for Travaris Cadet and Daniel Lasco.

All told, Hightower has shown in the past he's more than capable of holding down the fort on a short-term basis.
