Friday Recap
Despite having held the solo lead on seven under at the end of Thursday, Dodt actually shared the top of the leaderboard with Hall and American Harold Varner III at the start of the second round.
Both Hall and Varner III had been forced to complete their opening rounds on Friday morning after storms led to play being suspended on Thursday and picked up late shots to hit the top.
However, Dodt is in the lead on his own again after a good second round, which included six birdies and a bogey.
A three-putt five at the par-four 18th took some of the gloss off the Brisbane-born player's round, but birdies at three, eight, nine, 14, 15 and 17 had already made for a fine day's work.
Dodt is aware that he has a lot of work to do over the weekend, per the PGA of Australia:
Hall, who started on the 10th, also had six birdies in his round of 69 at the third, fifth, eighth, 13th, 14th and 15th.
However, a triple-bogey seven on the fourth prevented him from going really low as he found water and then missed a short putt.
Scott made a late burst for the lead on Friday after going out in level par. The 2013 Masters winner birdied the 10th, 12th, 15th and 16th holes to post a second consecutive 68 and will undoubtedly be in the mix near the top of the leaderboard come Sunday.
New Zealand's Fox had similar joy after the turn despite having played his first nine holes in level par—he started on the 10th—consecutive birdies at one, two, three and four contributing to his round of 69.
Poulter was one of the players who had to return on Friday to finish his opening round and the early morning start did not seem to be to his liking:
However, it was seemingly not detrimental to his game as he posted six birdies in a second-round 68 at three, 10, 12, 13, 15 and 18.
