Manchester United Transfer News: Latest Rumours on Bruma and Michael Carrick

Galatasaray winger Bruma has admitted he would be delighted to join Manchester United and work under manager Jose Mourinho.

The 22-year-old has been in scintillating form this season, and with his contract set to expire with the Turkish giants at the end of the campaign, speculation about his future has raged. When asked about the prospect of a possible move to Old Trafford, the player couldn't hide his excitement.

"Mourinho is a great manager," he told A Bola (h/t Jack Otway of the Daily Express). "All the players would like to work with him, and if it happened to me I'd love it. ... The English league is where every player wants to play. I think it would be a good league for me."

The talent possessed by the Portugal youth international has never been in dispute during his time with Sporting CP and Real Sociedad, as Bruma is a player capable of sublime moments. His combination of quick feet, ingenuity on the ball and blistering speed makes him tough to handle at full flight.

United already have a lot of options in the wide positions, as Mourinho can call upon Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Juan Mata, Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Ashley Young. Manchester United's veteran midfielder Michael Carrick has admitted he'd find it difficult to represent another team in the future.

The 35-year-old has been on the periphery of Mourinho's squad this season, although he has shown he can still be effective when he has been handed starts. When asked about a potential transfer, Carrick offered an insight into his thought process in the twilight of his career.

"It is not something I am looking to do at the minute. It would be very difficult to play somewhere else," he said of moving to a new club, per Marc Williams of the Daily Star. "Everyone is different. It depends on circumstance. It depends on a lot of things. I have said all along, I am relaxed about [my future at United]."

The midfielder is into his 11th season at United and was one of the key men in the team's successes under former manager Sir Alex Ferguson. While he's past his absolute best, these numbers from Squawka Football suggest he can still have an influence at the highest level:

With five Premier League title wins and a UEFA Champions League triumph to his name as a United player, it's no surprise Carrick feels an affinity with the Red Devils. And when he does eventually depart, he'll be missed by plenty at Old Trafford.

For all the thrust added by Paul Pogba and energy brought to the team by Ander Herrera, United don't possess another player who can be so calm and collected on the ball in the centre of the park. Finding a long-term replacement for Carrick will be a big challenge for whoever is in charge when he does eventually move on.
