Brooks Has Helped Stabilize Eagles O-Line
With Brooks out, Isaac Seumalo got the first start of his NFL career after coming off the bench in Philadelphia's last three games.
Brooks is in his first year in Philadelphia after spending the previous four years with the Houston Texans, who selected him in the third round of the 2012 draft.
Per Football Outsiders, the Eagles ranked 30th last year in run blocking, which prompted general manager Howie Roseman to give Brooks a five-year deal worth $40 million, $11 million of which was guaranteed.
The 27-year-old has become a vital cog on Philadelphia's offensive line and helped the unit climb to fifth in run blocking. The Eagles are also averaging 4.3 yards per carry, up from 3.9 in 2015. Although Brooks isn't solely responsible for that improvement, he is a big reason for the turnaround.
