Manchester United Transfer News: Latest Rumours on Memphis Depay, Andrea Belotti
Manchester United are set to revive their Italian links amid reports AS Roma are interested in Memphis Depay, while striker Andrea Belotti will shun the Premier League to sign a contract extension at Torino.
Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport (h/t Sun's Fred Nathan) reported Roma are ready to hand Depay a winter exit out of Old Trafford, and it's supposed the player's agent could have a decisive hand in the deal.
According to the report, Depay shares representation with Roma ace Kevin Strootman, who also happens to be the winger's compatriot, as well as Thomas Vermaelen, who's at the club on loan from Barcelona.
Depay has also been linked with a move to Everton, but that particular January deal seems unlikely after United boss Jose Mourinho sounded off on the Toffees' pursuit of his fringe player, per Metro's Mark Brus.
After Everton manager Ronald Koeman said he was interested in Depay, Mourinho said:
"I prefer not to make (such comments). I think my normal answer is if somebody asks me about a player from another team, my answer is the player is not my player.
The player belongs to another team, the player belongs to another manager, no comments at all. I think that is the ethical answer, when we are always worried about ethics, respect and rules.
I just say that if it was me making those comments about an Everton player, I would be in trouble.
"
Depay may persevere at Old Trafford in an attempt to carve out a future for himself with United, but after failing to make the squad for eight Premier League games this term, his future looks dim in Manchester.
That being said, the prospect of joining the Giallorossi may not seem like much of a step down at all in the player's eyes, and Strootman in particular may be pleased to see his compatriot make the move to the Stadio Olimpico.

Elsewhere, the Daily Star's Alex Wood cited a report from Italian daily La Gazzetta dello Sport, which said United are one of the teams in pursuit of Belotti, who has lit up Serie A in his second season at Torino.
However, it appears the 22-year-old is ready to pen new terms with the Turin outfit. Per the article, the forward said: "I am a Torino player and my agent is talking about renewal. I'm happy to stay here. I must prove my value. Luckily I've scored 10 goals in 12 games and want and continue for my sake and for Torino. I hope to take the team into Europe."

Belotti has been a prolific force since settling at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino, netting 10 goals in 12 league appearances this season, bringing his tally for the club up to 22 goals in just 49 games.
That record has earned the attention of some of Europe's biggest clubs, and OptaPaolo illustrated just what a rounded weapon the young attacker is, balancing this season's strikes evenly across his body:
According to the report, Torino are keen to reward Belotti with a new deal in order to fend off interest, and they're also hopeful of inserting an £80 million release clause.
United would struggle to capture the Italy international in 2017 if that is the case, but most of the continent's giants would also find it difficult to match such a staggering valuation unless Belotti proves worthy of the fee.
