Goldberg's Best Booking Options for WWE Royal Rumble 2017
On Monday’s episode of WWE Raw, Goldberg announced that he would be the first entrant into the 2017 Royal Rumble match.
Goldberg was originally scheduled to return for just one match at Sunday’s Survivor Series pay-per-view, but his dominant victory over Brock Lesnar proved that the wrestling legend still has another run left in him.
As the Royal Rumble approaches in January, here are the best booking options for Goldberg in the 30-man Battle Royal.

Goldberg Arrives at No. 1
There are many options for how to book Goldberg in the Royal Rumble, but with one of the most iconic entrances in wrestling history, it would be an incredible moment to start the Battle Royal with Goldberg as the No. 1 entrant.
With the whole procession from the back to the ring, the fireworks and the fanfare, the live crowd would instantly be at a fever pitch as it witnesses the return of Goldberg. The key would be who comes out at No. 2, and there is no better option than Lesnar.
Not only would the WWE Universe absolutely lose its mind in excitement to see these mammoths come head-to-head once again, but it would also set up the eventual rematch between the two Superstars at WrestleMania 33.
The best part of having Goldberg and Lesnar enter at No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, is that the two men can engage in a short battle and eventually eliminate each other before anyone else even enters the ring.
Goldberg Wins, Sets Up Match vs. Undertaker
Another intriguing option for Goldberg would be to have the veteran win the 30-man Battle Royal, but instead of main-eventing WrestleMania as part of a championship match, he uses his opportunity to challenge Undertaker.
Undertaker is the quintessential WWE Superstar, and while Goldberg was dominating his foes in WCW, The Deadman was doing the same in WWF.
A battle between two of the biggest names from the Attitude Era would be a marquee matchup.
While many members of the WWE Universe would think Goldberg winning the Royal Rumble would waste an opportunity that should be saved for a full-time star, setting up one of the biggest remaining dream matches would add serious depth to the WrestleMania 33 card.
In addition to being a marquee match WWE could build advertising campaigns around, the company would still be able to hold Universal Championship and WWE World Championship matches without being forced to pick one over the other as the main event.
WrestleMania is the biggest event of the year, and Undertaker vs. Goldberg is a match worthy of the stage.
