Manchester United Transfer News: Latest on Paulo Dybala, Moussa Dembele Rumours

Rob BlanchetteNov 18, 2016

Juventus starlet Paulo Dybala is set to dash the hopes of Manchester United and Chelsea after agreeing to sign a new deal with the Serie A champions.

According to Tuttosport (h/t TalkSport), the exciting striker will not be arriving in the Premier League but will instead sign a contract extension with the Old Lady.

Both English giants are described as "long-term admirers" of the attacker, having tried to recruit him during his days at Palermo.

However, the increased interest in Dybala's talents—with both Real Madrid and Barcelona monitoring the player—has prompted Juve to increase his wages from £2.5 million to £4.25 million per year, per Tuttosport.

Dybala converted 19 goals in 34 Serie A appearances last season, as Juve once again proved they have no equal in the Italian game.

The player was brought in as Carlos Tevez's long-term replacement, and he has continued to find the goals the Turin team requires after losing a plethora of talent from their squad.

Here is the player in action:

In other Red Devils news, United target Moussa Dembele will remain at Celtic in the short term, but coach Brendan Rodgers has admitted a transfer could happen "later down the line."

The former Liverpool boss told TalkSport the player wants to learn his trade in Glasgow after moving from Fulham but is likely to eventually join a bigger club in due course.

Rodgers said:

"

Him and his agent, they want to learn and they want to develop. They could have gone to a number of clubs in the summer and got way, way more money than up here. But he wants to try and do it the right way.

He wants to get experiences at a big club, learn, develop and then there probably will be a time when he will move on. In fairness to him, he has been absolutely fantastic. But he signed a four-year deal here and he is only a few months into it.

We are all realistic here. That was part of my role coming into here, accepting that if you have got top talents they may be here for a couple of years and move on. You have seen it with Wanyama, with Van Dijk and Ki.

"

The UEFA Champions League's official Twitter feed highlighted Dembele's lightning start to life in Scotland:

To sum up, Dybala is still a developing talent and has the ability to walk in the footsteps of compatriot Sergio Aguero, who has been a huge success since his move to England in 2011.

An extended stay at Juve is not unexpected at present, especially as they remain dominant in Italy.

However, just as Paul Pogba decided he wanted a move to the glamour world of the Premier League, Dybala may also choose to take this path in the future, following his former Juve team-mate to Manchester.

United currently have a balance of attackers in their squad, but Dybala could eventually fill the shoes of Wayne Rooney as Mourinho adds youth and verve to his options.
