Floyd Mayweather Jr. Sits Ringside for Manny Pacquiao vs. Jessie Vargas Fight

As the boxing world prepared for Manny Pacquiao and Jessie Vargas' bout on Saturday night from the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, retired legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. made his presence felt as he arrived at the arena just minutes before the fight, per Arash Markazi of ESPN: 

Mayweather has been retired for over a year, his last bout coming in a win over Andre Berto in September 2015, which improved his sterling record to 49-0. 

However, the 39-year-old hasn't convinced many he will stay retired as rumors have swirled he might return for big paydays, including a rematch with Pacquiao, according to the MailOnline's Jeff Powell, and a long-discussed superfight against UFC star Conor McGregor. 

At the scene of the WBO world welterweight title fight, Mayweather once again reminded Pacquiao, Vargas and the boxing powers that be that he is still relevant, especially at the start of the fight, as Kevin Iole of Yahoo Sports relayed:

Mayweather has had connections with both fighters over the years, including a May 2015 win against Pacquiao in a fight many considered six or seven years too late. 

Vargas trained and fought under Mayweather promotions but left in 2012 to sign with Top Rank.

Depending on Saturday night's results, there is a possibility Mayweather's name might crop up a few more times in the form of a callout from inside the ring.
