South Carolina will beat Florida on Nov. 10, 2009. Write it down.

In what many will view as the upset of the year, Steve Spurrier will prove that this team is for real, and that he has all the pieces in place to make a serious run at the championship in the near future.

In many ways, it will be a turning point in a program that is marred in mediocrity.  It will be the stepping stone to a bright future with a young team.  It sounds insane.  It sounds impossible.

It sounds just like what happens on a weekly basis in BCS football.

Stephen Garcia has been called a "poor man's Tim Tebow."  He is playing mistake free football and has the look and swagger of an All-SEC quarterback.  He has scrambling ability, and has proven himself as the leader of the team.

He has the ability to rally the troops and lead a team second to only Tim Tebow in the SEC.

South Carolina has a well of youthful talent on the defense.  These players will improve over time, and will be ready to play a team as talented as Florida.

Stephon Gilmore is proving to everyone that he will be the next star corner to come out of South Carolina, which has quietly earned the nickname DB-U (See NFL stars Jonathan Joseph of the Bengals, Dunta Robinson of the Texans, Captain Munnerlyn of the Panthers, Fred Bennett of the Texans,  Sheldon Brown of the Eagles, Andre' Goodman of the Denver Broncos, and Ko Simpson of the Detroit Lions).

Florida will be in the middle of what many will consider an "easy" stretch for them.  They play Vanderbilt, then South Carolina, and FIU.  After an easy win at Vanderbilt, Florida may be inclined to assume that South Carolina will be as easy.

They will  be sorely mistaken.

But the biggest reason I feel that South Carolina will win this game, is Eric Norwood.  For those of you who have not heard of him, Eric Norwood is a premier player in college football.  At his position, he may be the best in the league.

He may even be a better football player then Tim Tebow (and I think Tim Tebow is phenomenal, and I hope he is at 100 percent health for this game), and is just as great of a human being.  He has had a monster year, and is even beginning to appear on Heisman discussions.

Eric Norwood is looking for one more way to cement his legacy as one of the Universities best players of all time.

What better way then to help your team beat one of the best in the conference?

South Carolina has the ability and the drive to pull of this epic upset.

Here's to a phenomenal season!
