Tom SunderlandOct 11, 2016

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly eager to follow up their interest in Philippe Coutinho despite claims Liverpool rejected a £20 million bid for the player over the summer. Meanwhile, the Reds are keen on Burnley star Michael Keane.

French newspaper Le10 Sport (h/t Football Insider's Harvey Byrne) reported Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp turned down PSG's summer offer "out of hand," but the French titans will nevertheless return in 2017.

Manager Unai Emery may struggle to tempt the Merseysiders into a sale, however, considering Coutinho has evolved into one of the most treasured assets at Anfield since his January 2013 arrival.

Squawka recently attested to the Brazil international's pedigree after comparing his statistics thus far in the 2016-17 Premier League campaign alongside some of the division's other great puppeteers:

Coutinho arrived at Anfield from Italian giants Inter Milan for just £8.5 million, but it's unlikely the aforementioned £20 million sum will come anywhere close to tempting Liverpool into cashing in on their star.

The South American maestro has scored three times in seven Premier League appearances so far this season, and the official Premier League Twitter account recently celebrated one of Coutinho's better strikes in English football:

In total, the winger has scored 32 goals in 153 appearances for the Reds, per Transfermarkt, and PSG's funding spliced with an affinity for signing Brazilian stars makes them a very real transfer threat.

Even if Klopp were to lose Coutinho, Liverpool blogger Henry Jackson highlighted Klopp has the depth to do well in the position nonetheless, but the club would be losing arguably their most dazzling attacking weapon:

Earlier in the week, Le10 Sport also reported PSG were willing to use Coutinho's international compatriot Lucas Moura as part of a player-plus-cash bid to sweeten the deal (h/t the Sun's George Boulton).

Elsewhere, the Mirror's Liam Corless cited Sky Sports when reporting the Reds are one of the clubs that could sign Keane this winter, and uMAXit Football recently provided a look at the defender's form so far this season:

Interest in Keane has exploded in recent week following his fine form at Turf Moor, and interest is at fever pitch after England caretaker manager Gareth Southgate called the centre-back into his Three Lions squad last week.

Chelsea are leading the pursuit for Keane, who could move for as much as £25 million, although with Joel Matip, Dejan Lovren, Mamadou Sakho and Ragnar Klavan already at Anfield, the former Manchester United man may not fit in.
