Tunsil Comments on Missing Game vs. Titans

Monday, Oct. 10

Tunsil told reporters he's not using crutches, saying he's "embarrassed" and felt like he held the team back by missing the game against Tennessee, per Beasley.

Tunsil Has Been Inconsistent in Rookie Season

Tunsil, who had been playing guard early in the season, was slated for his first start at left tackle in Week 5. He has spent most of his career at guard and has never made a start at the left tackle position. The Titans entered Week 5 having posted only six sacks through the first four weeks and had a big day against a Miami line that has struggled in 2016, registering six sacks of quarterback Ryan Tannehill in a 30-17 victory.

In his first season out of Ole Miss, Tunsil has been an up-and-down performer over the first quarter of the season. Pro Football Focus grades him out as solid in the run game, but his pass-blocking grade of 59.0 leaves a little to be desired. Fellow first-rounders Ronnie Stanley and Taylor Decker both rank ahead of Tunsil in the overall rankings.
