Barcelona Transfer News: Latest Rumours on Aleix Vidal and Diego Alves
Aleix Vidal wants to leave Barcelona rather than remain on the bench on manager Luis Enrique's watch. Vidal has reportedly even told team-mates he's ready to quit the Camp Nou club in January.
A report from Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo (h/t AS English) has stated the former Sevilla man hopes to be sold during the winter window. He's anxious to leave because of a "crumbling relationship" with his manager.
Luis Enrique is said to be "unimpressed with the full-back’s performance and effort in training." As a result, Vidal has been denied the chance to replace Dani Alves at right-back, and the Barca boss has given the berth to young midfield playmaker Sergi Roberto.

Vidal has been left out of the last six matchday squads by Luis Enrique, which is a clear sign the player isn't trusted. However, the Mundo Deportivo report also noted Barca remain uncertain about what to do next with the player who cost an initial fee worth £13 million when he signed in 2015.
Yet Spanish source Sport (h/t Dan Pellegrini of the Sun) reported Barca are already discussing a swap deal involving Vidal with fellow La Liga club Valencia. Los Che are said to be prepared to offer Portuguese defender Joao Cancelo in exchange for Vidal.
Giving up on Vidal would mean parting company with a player whose versatility can be invaluable in any squad. The 27-year-old is able to operate on either flank or at both full-back spots, and he can even be moved into central midfield if needed.
Yet Barca may not need such a flexible player after bolstering their squad at key positions this summer. Samuel Umtiti was signed as a central defender who can also play left-back. Meanwhile, Andre Gomes and Denis Suarez were added to the midfield ranks.
Diego Alves Happy at Valencia
Speaking of Valencia, current Los Che goalkeeper Diego Alves has stated he's happy to have stayed at the club, despite being linked with Barca during the summer.
Speaking to Spanish publication AS (h/t ESPN FC's Adriana Garcia), Alves said: "I'm happy here. There is always talk and movement in the summer. I've been here six years now. To remain at Valencia was my aim. I didn't see myself out of this club."
The Brazilian stopper emerged as a target for Barcelona, with Spanish source Mundo Deportivo (h/t ESPN FC's Samuel Marsden) reporting talks had already begun regarding the deal back in August. At the time, Valencia sporting director Jesus Garcia Pitarch confirmed Alves was likely to leave the Mestalla due to wage demands the cash-strapped club couldn't meet.
Barca needed a new 'keeper as Claudio Bravo edged toward an eventual move to Premier League side Manchester City. But the five-time European champions ended up tabbing Netherlands stopper Jasper Cillessen from Ajax to replace Bravo. Cillessen, 27, is now the back-up to 24-year-old German Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
Alves might be playing regularly again, but it's hard to believe the 31-year-old harbours no regrets about not moving to Barcelona. After all, Los Che are currently in the bottom three after winning just two of seven matches to start the new season. By contrast, reigning champions Barca are in the thick of the title race, just two points off the top, per Sky Sports.
If Alves believes he should have no regrets, then neither should Barcelona. Luis Enrique's squad is still well set between the posts, with two young stoppers who are only going to get better over time.
