Alfred Dunhill Links Championship 2016: Friday Leaderboard Scores and Highlights
Ross Fisher climbed to the summit of the leaderboard at the 2016 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship on Friday, remaining on 11 under after Round 2.
The Englishman ended the day on four under for his second round at the St. Andrews Old Course to keep his nose in front of overnight leader Alex Noren and his Swedish countryman Joakim Lagergren.
Noren could only muster one-under par at Kingsbarns on Friday, allowing Fisher a two-shot advantage over his score. A late sprint by Lagergren saw him finish a shot behind the lead.
Read on for a breakdown of the leaderboard as its stands following the second day of the multi-course tournament, per the European Tour, complete with a recap of Friday's key moments:
Friday Recap
Fisher was in fluid form on Friday, with the 35-year-old stringing together a clinical round at St. Andrews.
The Ascot-born talent recorded four birdies on the front nine and a further three on the back as he wrested control from Noren. The Swede had played a course record at the Championship Course at Carnoustie on Thursday but was far from his best during Round 2.
The European Tour highlighted the leader's magnificent approach play:
It could have been even better for Fisher as he came down the home stretch, but three bogey putts on his last seven holes punctured his finish.
Lagergren also caught and leapfrogged Noren at the end of play, hitting a strong round that matched the leader—scoring four under to end on 134 after two rounds—a solitary shot behind Fisher.
The Swedish starlet from Stockholm ticked along consistently with two birdies and an eagle on No. 3.

Noren will be disappointed to be slightly off the pace after Thursday's original success, but Kingsbarns gave him trouble when he appeared in control.
A double birdie on No. 5 was followed by an eagle on No. 6, but the overnight leader struggled to find the putting he needed. Bogeys on the final two holes let him down.
Noren explained he was keeping his performance within context, per the European Tour:
Fisher is centre stage as the competition enters the third round, but his lead is slender and precarious at present.
Lagergren is only ranked No. 322 in the world and will find it difficult to keep up with the Englishman if he maintains his current consistency around the greens.
Noren remains the central and credible threat to Fisher as the action unfolds, but he will have to shake the cobwebs from his game after a mediocre display on Friday.
