Liverpool Transfer News: Latest Rumours on Steven Gerrard and Niklas Sule
Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard could be about to leave L.A. Galaxy as the midfielder's deal expires in MLS.
John Richardson of the Mirror reported the former Reds captain will become a free agent in November and might find his way back to English football. Gerrard can leave the Californian club once their future in the MLS play-offs is decided. The ex-England skipper is debating whether to retire from playing, but he retains a desire to carry on performing.
According to Richardson, a number of Championship teams could move for the legendary talent, and a return to Anfield might be on the cards in a player-coaching role under Jurgen Klopp. The veteran has previously stated he will only return to the Premier League to join his former club.

Gerrard said:
"I’m wondering whether I should play on for a little bit longer or whether I should call it a day. I haven’t 100 per cent decided on that yet.
I still enjoy playing. I still love coming into training, I still love competing, so if I can carry on and there are opportunities to stay here or go somewhere else for another six months or 12 months then I’ll consider it.
But if nothing comes up I’ll try and fly through the coaching badges and see what happens down that road.
I’m around 60 percent through my A licence and I’m hoping to have that finished by the end of the year so we’ll go from there.
"

Gerrard also commented on his fresh enthusiasm for the Premier League, speaking to Radio City Talk (h/t Richardson): "With Jurgen Klopp and Ronald Koeman on Merseyside, Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho in Manchester and Antonio Conte, Mauricio Pochettino and Arsene Wenger in London it’s really exciting for the Premier League."
The icon's club statistics have been good this term, providing three goals and nine assists in the American league, according to WhoScored.com.

In other Reds news, Klopp might compete with Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Everton for the services of burgeoning Hoffenheim defender Niklas Sule.
According to German newspaper Bild (h/t Joe Rimmer of the Liverpool Echo), Klopp could battle Premier League opposition for the 21-year-old who has greatly impressed in the manager's homeland.
The tall centre-back has the classical talents needed by a defender to succeed in England and would provide Klopp with a physical presence in his back four.
WhoScored.com highlighted details of the player's defensive skill:

Klopp's men have found an extra gear in a attack in recent weeks, but a genuine title challenge will not be forthcoming unless the coach addresses the deficiencies in defence.
The Germany international could have a dramatic impact at Anfield if captured in January, allowing the Reds boss to play his brand of pressing football, while covering behind the creativity of his dynamic midfield.
Liverpool are not as far away from the top four as they appeared in the summer, and a strategic signing might see them vault up the table.
Sule was impressive at the recent Olympic Games in Brazil, and he could become a vital cog in the Liverpool machine.
