Bengals Need Kirkpatrick Healthy for Playoff Push
Kirkpatrick nursed a hamstring injury that forced him to miss the Bengals' Week 4 game against the Miami Dolphins, and news of the ailment came on the heels of an injury-riddled offseason for the former Alabama standout.
Kirkpatrick underwent shoulder surgery in March after appearing in all 16 games during the 2015 season, and the news was unwelcome after the former first-round pick failed to tally an interception while racking up 70 total tackles.
Kirkpatrick has notched three interceptions and 29 total tackles in nine games this season. He recorded two total tackles against Buffalo prior to the injury in Week 11.
Should Kirkpatrick miss time in the future, Darqueze Dennard projects as his primary replacement on the outside of Cincinnati's defense. Josh Shaw would also be in line for more snaps when the Bengals defend on obvious passing downs.
