Juventus were very poor in a 2-0 defeat away to Palermo on Sunday night. Here, Adamo Digby marks the Juventus players out of ten, giving a brief recap of each individual’s contribution and performance.

Average ratings and player rankings are published each month, with a player of the month award going to the highest scoring player in any period.

Gianluigi Buffon 6.5 Not at fault for either goal, as he was badly protected by the poor showing in front of him. He made a fine save from Cavani and a great one-on-one stop from Miccoli. Without him, Palermo would have won by more. Player of the day.

Jonathan Zebina 5 Played as badly going forward as defending, yet another player failing to seize the starting shirt at right-back. Disappointing again.

Fabio Grosso 6.5 The best of Juve's defenders, also performed well in attack. Showed how much of a miss he was in Bologna game, sadly rest of the back-line not at his level.

Giorgio Chiellini 6 Made a number of vital blocks but looked more than a little lost and was turned way too often by Miccoli's trickery. The constant rotation in defense seems to have finally affected the only constant.

Nicola Legrottaglie 5 A huge step in the wrong direction and probably cost himself the chance to start Italy's game with Ireland, even with Cannavaro suspended. Totally outplayed and out thought all evening.

Mauro Camoranesi 6 Back to the frustrating player of recent times, frustrated, lashing out, booked and very lucky to remain on the field. He gave away the free-kick that led to the second goal. With Sissoko and Tiago returning to fitness may well have cost his starting position.

Felipe Melo 5.5 Easily his worst performance in a Juve shirt, gave away a goal for the second game in a week. Looked very tired and another frustrated performance. The International break may just be at the right time for him.

Christian Poulsen 5 Played well and clearly trying to impress, just sadly not up to the standard Juve fans expect in midfield. Should have scored from a Camoranesi cross just after halftime, but the shot mirrored the performance. Way off target.

Diego 6 At the heart of everything good going forward for Juventus, substituted at just the wrong time. When his influence and creativity were needed most he was sat down.

Iaquinta 5 His first below par performance of the season. He had a couple of good chances, but was never going to score in this game. Seems to be struggling with the constant changes around him and the form of others clearly affected his game too.

Amauri 5. Continued the same form he has showed in recent weeks. He looked even less likely to score than Iaquinta. Juve needed a performance against his former club but he was uninspired by a return to a ground where the goals flowed for him.

De Ceglie 6 Tried hard to provide energy after coming on.

Grygera 5 Booked despite only playing 10 minutes, another RB failure.

Trezeguet 5 Unlucky not to start, and wasted a chance to prove it when sent on.
