Terrelle Pryor, Duke Johnson, Isaiah Crowell Post-Week 3 Fantasy Advice

Rob GoldbergSep 25, 2016

The Cleveland Browns don't have the most exciting offense in the NFL, but they do feature some players who are worth watching for fantasy football.

Even after losing quarterbacks Robert Griffin III and Josh McCown to injury, here is a look at a few names to watch within this offense.

Duke Johnson and Isaiah Crowell

Running back committees are the worst thing for fantasy football. You are at best looking at half the production of a full-time back. Other times, you are just guessing which player is going to succeed.

Such is the case with Isaiah Crowell and Duke Johnson, who are splitting time in Cleveland's backfield.

With that said, Crowell has actually performed well all year long and is getting enough touches to remain relevant (averaging 15 carries per game). He is the clear early-down back in this offense, and with so much uncertainty at quarterback, this should mean at least 15 to 20 carries per game going forward.

His success will usually be dependent on touchdowns, but he might be as consistent as you can hope for at the position. Crowell won't likely be an elite player any time soon, but he will be a serviceable starter in your lineup.

Conversely, Johnson is difficult to trust on a weekly basis. His upside is clear thanks to his receiving and big-play ability, but he could easily get shut out in a game. Even in points-per-reception leagues, he is not worth a start unless Crowell gets hurt.

This was one of the ultimate boom-or-bust picks heading into the season. Terrelle Pryor is one of the best athletes in the NFL, but he is new to the position and is in an offense without much certainty at quarterback.

Bleacher Report's Matt Miller noted the receiver's upside:

Beyond what he brings to the table as a receiver, Pryor also contributed as both a passer and a runner, including a rushing touchdown in the loss. While you can't really count on these types of plays every week, the Browns are clearly committed to getting the playmaker the ball.

It's clear Pryor should be on all rosters in fantasy football, although there are still some doubts over whether he is worth a start. If he continues to pick up yardage in all forms, however, he could eventually turn into a fantasy star.
