In Gee Chun captured sole possession of the lead at the 2016 Evian Championship on Friday, and she maintained a hold on the top spot with a 65 on Saturday to push her cumulative three-day total to 19 under par.

Sung Hyun Park, who was in hot pursuit of Chun on Friday, continued to hang right with the world No. 8 and will have a shot at spoiling her championship aspirations on Sunday after she fired home a 67 to move to 15 under par for the tournament.

An overview of the Evian Championship leaderboard following moving day can be viewed below, while a complete rundown of three-day scores from Evian Resort Golf Club in Evian-les-Bains, Francecan be found at the tournament's official website

After Chun posted 14 birdies in Rounds 1 and 2 combined, it was no surprise to see the South Korean star come out and fire home three birdies over the course of her first eight holes Saturday. However, Chun—who made a single bogey during her first two rounds—encountered an uncharacteristic slip-up on No. 9 when she carded a double bogey that dropped her to one under for the round.

But in resilient fashion, she wasn't fazed by the sloppy close to an otherwise sterling front nine.

Birdies on Nos. 11 and 13 catapulted Chun back to three under for the day, and a chip-in for eagle from just off the fringe on No. 15 solidified her status as the 54-hole leader at the year's fifth and final major.

Park, meanwhile, enjoyed yet another fruitful day after she finished two shots back of the lead at 11 under on Friday.

Although she recorded pars on her first eight holes Saturday, Park notched back-to-back birdies on Nos. 9 and 10 to put the heat on Chun following her double bogey, as the championship's official Twitter account documented

Another pair of birdies on Nos. 13 and 14 allowed Park to hold steady in second place, but she'll need a superlative performance and some help from Chun if she hopes to make a late run on Sunday and secure an upset over her compatriot.

In American action, Angela Stanford finished as the top Red, White and Blue golfer through three rounds despite carding an even-par 71 on an up-and-down day.

To wit: Stanford not only carded four bogeys, but she recorded a double bogey on the par-three second to start her round off three over through two holes.

Those maddening inconsistencies threatened to derail Stanford's third round and send her plummeting out of the top 10, but an eagle on No. 13 offered some stability before she closed out her back nine with a bogey on No. 14 and birdies on Nos. 15 and 16:

Now alone in sixth place, Stanford has a fantastic opportunity to finish among the championship's top five if she can maintain the momentum she captured down the backstretch Saturday.

But when it comes down to it, everyone will be chasing Chun—who has a chance to make history on Sunday. Not only does the 22-year-old have a shot to capture her second major title, but she could set the 72-hole scoring record at a major if she finishes at 20 under par or better, according to Golf Channel's Randall Mell

With just 18 holes separating Chun from another milestone, the ascendant superstar should be dialed in with a championship on the line when final-round action gets underway.

Post-Round Reaction

Following her stellar third round, Chun discussed her play at the Evian Championship with LPGA.com's Amy Rogers:

In-Kyung Kim, who carded a round of seven-under on Saturday, discussed her efforts and the difficult of dethroning Chun.

"I hit probably better yesterday to be honest, but today on the par-5s I was able to reach on the back nine, so I was able to birdie on those," she said, per Rogers. "But there's a lot of chances out there. But there's a few really quite difficult holes with the slope and everything. But In Gee and everything is playing so well, so I'll have to bring my best game somehow."
