Manchester City vs. Bournemouth: Pep Guardiola's Key Pre-Match Presser Quotes
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola revealed that David Silva is unlikely to be available for the Sky Blues' Saturday clash with Bournemouth because of injury, but he was quick to make assurances it was not a major problem.
City will be looking to make it five wins from five in the 2016-17 Premier League campaign when they host Bournemouth, but they are seemingly set to be without their diminutive playmaker.
Silva was replaced in the squad for Wednesday's delayed UEFA Champions League clash with Borussia Monchengladbach, and Guardiola said his compatriot picked up a problem in the last few days, per the Manchester Evening News: "I think tomorrow he won’t be able [to play]. I didn't see the doctor and David. I think it’s not a big, big problem, but it happened just two days ago."

Silva was masterful as City beat neighbours Manchester United last time out in the Premier League, per the New York Times' Rory Smith:
He will be missed, but Guardiola has huge quality to call up to cover him.
Summer signing Ilkay Gundogan replaced him in the midweek squad to make his debut for the club, but Guardiola has not yet decided whether the Germany international will play against the Cherries, per M.E.N.: "I’m thinking about it—I don’t know. He played good but we cannot forget he comes from a long-term injury. We’ll see today, we’ll talk to the doctors."
Striker Sergio Aguero will also be an absentee for the visit of Bournemouth to the Etihad Stadium as he is still serving a suspension for elbowing West Ham United's Winston Reid.
The lethal Argentinian netted a hat-trick against Gladbach—his second treble of the season already—and Guardiola hinted that Aguero is in line to sign a new contract with the club, with his current deal set to expire in 2019, per Squawka:
City are heavy favourites to claim all three points against Bournemouth on Saturday, and Bleacher Report's Dean Jones predicted a comfortable win for the Premier League leaders:
They have looked irresistible at times early in the new campaign and have won every competitive match under Guardiola since he was installed in the summer.
The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss insisted, though, that there is still plenty of room for improvement, per M.E.N.: "It’s September—in every game you can be better. Every game is a chance to improve. There are still many things we can do better."
Bournemouth will be no pushovers at the Etihad. They beat West Bromwich Albion last time out, and manager Eddie Howe has built an excellent squad at the Vitality Stadium.
However, in 2015-16, City thrashed the Cherries both home and away. They are a better side this term and, even with key absentees, it should be a routine three points for Guardiola's men on Saturday.
