USA vs. Netherlands Women's Soccer: Date, Time, TV Info, Live Stream
The United States Women’s National Team will be out to keep up its fine recent form in Sunday's match against the Netherlands in Atlanta.
Last time out, the class of the United States proved far too much for Thailand, who were blown away 9-0 by Jillian Ellis’ side on Thursday. The Oranje will provide a much stiffer test in this one; they’re currently ranked as the 13th best team in the world by FIFA.
After disappointment at the summer Olympics, the USWNT will be out to build more momentum with some big challenges to come. Here’s a look at where you can catch this clash from the Georgia Dome and a closer examination of what both teams have to offer ahead of this one.

USWNT Set for Netherlands Test
In what was the final match of Heather O’Reilly’s storied international career, the USWNT ran riot against Thailand, eventually finding the back of the net on nine occasions.
Of course, the opposition was particularly modest in the contest—it took the United States just 39 seconds to open the scoring—although there was a hunger that bristled in the players on Thursday, with memories of the quarter-final elimination at the Olympics evidently still fresh in the mind.

Some of the attacking play was sparkling too, particularly from Carli Lloyd. She netted a memorable treble on the night, not to mention four assists too, and as Paul Carr of ESPN noted, it was the seventh of her USWNT career:
While it was a night to remember for O’Reilly and Lloyd, Megan Rapinoe’s decision to kneel for the national anthem has stoked up controversy and all eyes will be on her pre-match again on Sunday.
As reported by The Associated Press via the Guardian, the midfielder made the gesture to show her support for San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who is refusing to stand for the anthem to raise awareness for racial inequality.

“As part of the privilege to represent your country, we have an expectation that our players and coaches will stand and honor our flag while the National Anthem is played,” read a statement from U.S. Soccer on the controversy, per the same source.
ESPN FC’s Jason Davis doesn’t understand why there’s been quite so much focus on Rapinoe’s actions:
On the pitch it was a game that felt like an exhibition match, although this contest with the Dutch will likely be played in a much more serious tone.
Arjan van der Laan has some very talented players at his disposal, particularly in the attacking positions, where the Netherlands move the ball with a pace and purpose. They weren’t involved in the Olympics, although this team has a chance to test themselves against two of the best sides in the world in the next two games; they face Germany in October.

It’ll be the first time these two nations have met in over three years. The last outing was in 2013 and saw the United States secure a comfortable 3-1 win over the Dutch in Den Haag.
This contest will likely follow a similar pattern. While the Netherlands are in possession of plenty of technical players, so too are the United States and it’s likely Ellis’ side will control the tempo of the game. And with so much attacking diversity in the final third, expect another comprehensive display from a group of determined USWNT players.
Prediction: United States 4-1 Netherlands
