Manchester United Transfer News: Latest James Rodriguez, Matteo Darmian Rumours

James Rodriguez's career at Real Madrid could be coming to an end, with Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur possible future destinations for the Colombian superstar.

According to Italian outlet Calciomercato (h/t talkSPORT), the attacking midfielder could be available for £42 million as he searches for a regular starting berth.

The cut-price fee would allow the potent talent to find a quick route out of the Spanish capital, as Zinedine Zidane continues to overlook the player for the Galacticos.

James has featured in only 34 minutes of football in La Liga this term, per talkSPORT, and he is currently far down the pecking order at the Bernabeu Stadium. United are thought as the "most likely destination" for the attacker as Jose Mourinho continues his rebuilding efforts at Old Trafford.

The 25-year-old scored eight goals and provided eight assists in La Liga and the UEFA Champions League last season, according to WhoScored.com, as Real collected their 11th European Cup trophy.

James is represented by agent Jorge Mendes, who also counts Mourinho and Cristiano Ronaldo as part of his clientele.

In other news, Matteo Darmian could be ready for a shock move from the Red Devils to Chelsea, as Antonio Conte considers his compatriot.

Calciomercato (h/t James Whaling of the Mirror) reported the Blues are tracking the Italian international after he lost his place to Antonio Valencia under the self-proclaimed Special One at the Theatre of Dreams.

Darmian was recruited by former boss Louis van Gaal, but is yet to feature since the advent of Mourinho's tenure.

Juventus and Napoli are also described as "interested" in the full-back should United opt to sell the 26-year-old, per Calciomercato.

James fits the profile of the type of player Mouirnho wants at United, and his reduced price will appeal to the top clubs in the Premier League.

His experience in Spain has prepared him for another spell at one of the world's superclubs, and he would be worshiped by the faithful at United.

James' links to Mourinho via his agent can only be beneficial to United, should the Red Devils begin a charm offensive to capture the creative individual.

United lack a world-class No. 10 in their ranks, and if James can find his previously outstanding form, he would walk straight into Mourinho's first-team to support Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
