Vincent Janssen Injury: Spurs Striker to Miss Luxembourg Match with Concussion
Tottenham Hotspur striker Vincent Janssen suffered a concussion and "lost 20 minutes of his memory" on Wednesday during the Netherlands' 1-1 draw against Belgium in an international friendly. He'll likely miss the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Luxembourg as a result.
Manager Danny Blind confirmed the news after the match, in which Janssen was forced to leave the pitch in the first half after a collision with Belgian goalkeeper Simon Mignolet, per Football-Oranje.com:
"Danny Blind confirms that Janssen had concussion while Lens will miss Luxembourg tie through hamstring issue.

"Looks like Vincent Janssen will miss the tie against Luxembourg as well. Blind coy on whether he would call a replacement. Van Persie?

ESPN FC provided further quotes from the Netherlands chief after the fixture, where he confirmed his striker lost some of his memory as a result of the knock: "Janssen is going to be a very difficult story. The physician told me it is a concussion. He lost 20 minutes of his memory, and doesn't know what happened. We have to be careful with that and talk it through."
Janssen arrived in English football from AZ Alkmaar in the summer with a big reputation, having lit up the Eredivisie with his excellent goalscoring.
At Spurs, the 22-year-old’s primary task has been to lend support to Harry Kane, with the England international shouldering a massive amount of responsibility at the point of the attack. Janssen has already showed enough in his Spurs career to suggest he can excel in this role.
Indeed, Janssen has had no problem adapting to the robust nature of the Premier League, hurling himself into physical battles and pinning opposition defenders down.

With just one goal in the Premier League so far, the Oranje man will be seeking to find the back of the net more frequently, although his first campaign was always going to be one of transition. As he gets more acclimatised to the division, expect the goal return to swell.
Kane remains the main man at White Hart Lane in attack, although manager Mauricio Pochettino doesn’t have another option to play as a No. 9 aside from Janssen. Heung-Min Son can play there in an emergency, but he doesn’t possess the physicality of the aforementioned duo.
Janssen should recover by the time the international break is over, although Spurs' doctors will keep a close eye on the ace forward.
