According to Richard Wheatstone of the Mirror, the Senegal international was involved in a two-vehicle crash before being airlifted from the scene, although his injuries are not said to be life-threatening.

Palace team-mate Yohan Cabaye wished the defender the best on social media. "I'm with you," he said on Twitter (h/t the London Evening Standard). "Be strong! I wish you a very good recovery."

Eagles winger Bakary Sako posted the following on his Instagram account:

Souare joined Palace in January 2015 from Lille and made 34 appearances for Alan Pardew’s side in the Premier League last season. After a strong start to life at Selhurst Park, he signed a new three-and-a-half-year deal this January.

On the international stage, Souare has represented Senegal 22 times, scoring on one occasion. He's renowned for his energetic bursts forward and committed defensive work on the left flank.
