Manager Jurgen Klopp's side suffered defeat in their last outing, beaten 2-1 by AS Roma in St. Louis, Missouri, whereas the Blaugrana are yet to concede a loss in this year's International Champions Cup.

One of the biggest headlines for Liverpool fans heading to Wembley this weekend is, of course, the opportunity to see former star striker Luis Suarez in action for his current employers.

Many are sure to feel lovelorn for their once-talismanic forward, who has come upon even greater form since moving to Barcelona in 2014 and is looking promising once again in pre-season.

Klopp would have undoubtedly loved to have Suarez under his command at the Anfield helm, but his Reds have shown glimpses of their own promise this summer, winning five of their seven pre-season games.

However, Suarez already had a hand in downing Premier League champions Leicester City 4-2 on Wednesday and scored a stunning individual effort against the Foxes, via Sky Sports Football:

Despite this only being a friendly encounter, manager Luis Enrique's side still have much to play for, too, having beaten Celtic and Leicester in their first two 2016 International Champions Cup matchups.

Bleacher Report's Jonathan Johnson pointed out that silverware still sits on the line if they manage to trump Liverpool at Wembley, having already won in Dublin (Celtic) and Stockholm (Leicester City):

The one major advantage Liverpool perhaps can claim is that the majority of fans in attendance at Wembley will lean toward the Premier League representatives.

Regardless of the result, however, the Liverpool Echo's Andy Kelly reported there's likely to be a major rush to get back to Merseyside once the fixture is over:

Those diehard supporters out there will then face the swift turnover in attempting to make their way to Mainz, where they will see a different lineup take on the German outfit on Sunday with no time to spare.

Barcelona, on the other hand, will have a much more comfortable four-day respite before ending their pre-season campaign against Sampdoria in front of a home crowd.
