Moore Carried Off Field After Practice Injury

Per David Helman of the Cowboys' official website, Moore was not putting any weight on his right leg while being helped off the field. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Moore suffered either a broken leg or ankle and did not address a potential move for the team, per David Moore of the Dallas Morning News.
Brandon George of the Dallas Morning News noted left guard Jared Smith stepped on the quarterback's ankle, which caused the injury.

Moore's Injury Creates Lack of Depth Behind Romo
Moore saw his first extended playing time last season due to Tony Romo's collarbone injuries. He started two games, throwing for 779 yards with four touchdowns and six interceptions.
Based on the severity of Moore's injury, the Cowboys will have to sign someone to back up Romo. There's also the concern about Romo getting hurt again after he played in just four games last season.
At 36 years old, Romo isn't going to get more durable. He does have the luxury of playing behind a terrific offensive line, but that didn't help his cause last year.
Jameill Showers is the third-string quarterback on Dallas' official depth chart, and the team drafted Dak Prescott, though it seems unlikely either player would be ready to be thrown into the fire right away.
One small benefit of Moore's injury happening this early in training camp is it gives the Cowboys ample opportunity to get a new quarterback acclimated to their system before the regular season starts.
