Anderson Undergoes Surgery on Meniscus

Friday, Oct. 28

"Surgery was a super success been resting all day," Anderson tweeted

"They went in yesterday evening and took care of things," Kubiak said on Oct. 28 on KOA NewsRadio, via Broncos vice president of public relations Patrick Smyth. "We're in an evaluation process now."

On Oct. 27, Kubiak confirmed that Anderson would undergo surgery, adding that he is "obviously" out for Week 8 against the San Diego Chargers, per Troy Renck of Denver7.

Mike Klis of 9News reported that a trip to the injured reserve list is likely. Klis added that the meniscus tear was significant but not complete, and it's unclear whether the running back will miss eight weeks or 12.

Latest on Anderson's Diagnosis

Thursday, Oct. 27

Anderson took to Twitter to deny a report from Rapoport that stated he had "told people close to him that he's done for the year," calling it "false," according to Chuck Hickey of KDVR.com.

"The false report that people have is crazy we would know later today what's going on so please don't believe these false allegations," Anderson added on Twitter.

According to Pro Football Weekly, Anderson continued by saying: "The disrespect for a damn story is unbelievable. I'm disappointed in these people."

Anderson later deleted the tweets, saying he "will stay off social" and "can't let [people] get to me."

Earlier, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that an MRI revealed Anderson did not tear his ACL.

Anderson's Injury Will Provide Booker with Added Carries

Anderson experienced an up-and-down 2015 campaign that ultimately ended on a high note, but he's been far more explosive throughout the Broncos' Super Bowl title defense.

With seven games under his belt in the 2016 season, Anderson has buoyed Denver's run-first offense to the tune of 110 carries for 437 yards and four touchdowns.

"Our whole goal is to be consistent, not to be one-hit wonders or play Jekyll and Hyde with our offense," Anderson said, according to the Denver Post's Cameron Wolfe.

With Anderson out, 2016 fourth-round pick Devontae Booker and Justin Forsett will continue to split carries in the backfield.
