John Terry Injury: Chelsea Defender Injures Ankle vs. Swansea City
Chelsea have been hit by the news that club captain John Terry looks set for a spell on the sidelines after he suffered an ankle injury during Sunday's match against Swansea City.
The club's official Twitter account reported on the status of Terry's injury, and manager Antonio Conte couldn't guarantee the veteran would be available for the upcoming Premier League match against Liverpool on Friday:
Terry's first-team profile has declined over the past year in west London, but Conte handed the ex-England international a new lease on life after pairing him alongside Gary Cahill as his centre-back duo of choice.
Terry made just 33 appearances for the Blues across all competitions last season and looked set for a Stamford Bridge exit before penning a one-year contract extension in May, per Matt Barlow and Sami Mokbel of the Daily Mail.

The 35-year-old helped the west Londoners boast the best defensive record during the Premier League-winning season of 2014-15, when they conceded just 32 goals in total.
However, not even Terry was able to help the Blues maintain that stingy record in 2015-16, when he missed six games through injury, according to Transfermarkt.
Chelsea's centre-back options were also hurt after Kurt Zouma suffered a knee injury in early February that has kept him out of the lineup for the beginning of the 2016-17 season. The returning David Luiz will likely see his first minutes against the Reds if Terry hasn't recovered by then.
