Northwestern State Needs to Learn the Definition of a SPORTS COLUMN…

So, I heard word from the Northwestern State football team earlier today.

Well, not exactly directly, but there were definitely comments being made about a recent column I wrote about the Northwestern State Demons playing dirty.

Apparently, the team is now considering a response to my “claims,” as they like to call them (Web site's claims make NSU ponder a response).

What the Demons team and staff really need to do is quit wasting their time responding to columns and focus on winning some football games.

Not only that, but do the Demons truly know the definition of a “sports column?”

Give me a break; it’s called a column and it’s just one writer’s opinion on a given subject.

The last thing I want to do as a Featured Columnist for Bleacher Report covering the Baylor Football team is cause a negative distraction for the Bears.

Whether the hit that took down Superman was clean or not is beyond the point at this time; I still stick with what I wrote and that’s part of being a writer and a columnist -- having a solid opinion on a sports issue.

And, let’s realize that I am NOT just talking about Griffin. There were THREE injuries in that game and there were also flags against the Demons for helmet-to-helmet calls.

I have cited my reasons for feeling this way about Northwestern State and that’s all I am going to say on this subject.

I love the Baylor Bears; I love Robert Griffin; I love Coach Art Briles and his staff.

Get over the damn column, Northwestern State.

Conference play is right around the corner, and I can’t wait to watch my Bears be a success despite the latest injuries…
