Manchester United Transfer News: Latest Gareth Bale and Mehmet Topal Rumours
Manchester United are reportedly preparing a world-record £94.6 million move to sign Real Madrid superstar Gareth Bale this summer as Jose Mourinho continues his revamp of the club. Meanwhile, the Red Devils are said to be in the hunt for free agent Mehmet Topal.
According to Spanish newspaper El Confidencial, United are in pursuit of Bale and are willing to fork out the world transfer-record amount in order to being him back to the Premier League (h/t Mirror's James Whaling).

The former Tottenham Hotspur winger already boasts the highest transfer fee ever paid for a player following his £86 million switch to the Santiago Bernabeu in 2013 but could smash it once again three years on.
Bale is currently impressing with Wales at Euro 2016 and helped fire his side to the top of Group B on Saturday after scoring in their 2-1 win over Slovakia. Setanta Sports writer Wayne Barton was quick to joke that his ongoing success will inevitably result in more familiar links with United:
Such is the winger's longstanding association with a move to Old Trafford, and the Red Devils have consistently been reported as one of the outfits capable of bringing him back to England's top flight.
Bale's performance for Wales on Saturday only extended his reputation as a national icon, and former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour compared his talismanic qualities with former United ace Cristiano Ronaldo, per Sky Sports News HQ:
New manager Mourinho has already splashed £30 million on Villarreal defender Eric Bailly and is likely to continue investing in the summer transfer market as he looks to revive United as a European powerhouse.
A move will be difficult to pull off, though, and after recording 19 goals and 10 assists in 21 La Liga starts last season, Bale is more indispensable at Real now than ever, according to the Guardian's Sid Lowe.

Bale played a big hand in guiding Los Merengues to their 11th European title in 2015-16, and with his Spanish adventure progressing so well, it's unlikely the 26-year-old will be ready for a Premier League comeback anytime soon.
Elsewhere, Turkish newspaper Fotospor reported that Mourinho is hot on the tail of Turkey defender Topal, who is on the verge of an exit from Fenerbahce after his contract at the club expired (h/t Joe Short of the Daily Express). WhoScored.com's Ben McAleer has rated the 30-year-old as a potentially valuable pickup:
Topal made 53 appearances for Fenerbahce across all competitions last season and can feature in defensive midfield or as a centre-back, similar to the traits of current United utility Daley Blind.
According Turkish outlet AMK (via Short), Topal, who has 59 caps for Turkey, is also being hunted by Super Lig titans and Fenerbahce rivals Galatasaray, but the prospect of a lucrative move to the Premier League may appeal to the defender.
