Liverpool Transfer News: Latest on Sadio Mane and Adam Bogdan Rumours
Liverpool will turn their attention away from Mario Gotze and seek to prise Sadio Mane away from Southampton this summer, per Goal's Melissa Reddy.
The Senegalese winger has also reportedly caught the eye of Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur after scoring 15 goals for the Saints during the 2015-16 campaign, per WhoScored.com.
According to the report, Gotze's refusal to commit to a deal with the Anfield club has forced manager Jurgen Klopp to consider other available options in his first pre-season on Merseyside, with the team eager to bounce back from runner-up finishes in the League Cup and UEFA Europa League last season.-
The German coach is predicted to transform the squad during the transfer window, with former Liverpool striker John Aldridge claiming up to seven players may be recruited, per James Dutton of the Daily Mail.

Per Reddy, Mane is expected to cost in the region of £25 million, with Liverpool having previous experience of dealing with the south-coast club. Former manager Brendan Rodgers raided St Mary's Stadium in order to sign Rickie Lambert, Nathaniel Clyne, Dejan Lovren and Adam Lallana. Klopp is knowledgeable on the attributes Mane can offer, following the attacker's two-year spell at Red Bull Salzburg.
Bleacher Report's Jack Lusby questioned the club's transfer strategy after failing to agree to signing Mane for a considerably smaller fee:
The 24-year-old has an electric turn of pace, devastatingly quick feet and impressive control in possession. Despite his squat stature—the 24-year-old is just 5'7"—Mane regularly displays muscularity and sturdiness under firm challenges. In addition, his selflessness saw him provide six assists to team-mates in the Premier League last term, as he demonstrated calmness and composure inside the 18-yard area.
As detailed by FIFA, the Senegal striker holds an impressive goalscoring record in the English top flight, which is unlikely to be broken any time soon:
Klopp was undoubtedly impressed after the forward netted four times against his side in three matches during the recently completed campaign, but the wide player remains a backup option to his desired move for 2014 FIFA World Cup winner Gotze.
Elsewhere, the former Borussia Dortmund coach is eager to remove back-up goalkeeper Adam Bogdan from Liverpool's books, with the former Bolton Wanderers stopper made surplus to requirements at the club, per the Sun's Alan Nixon.
The 28-year-old arrived at the club on a free transfer last summer and has gone on to make six appearances. Two of his performances in the red of Liverpool were notable for mistakes. He dropped a cross and conceded against Watford in December, before he made another individual error in the 2-2 draw with Exeter City in early January in the third round of the FA Cup.

These blunders cost Bogdan his position as a reserve, with youngster Danny Ward selected above him in the pecking order. Klopp has already gone about organising plans for the Hungarian's exit, with the international stopper having been offered to several Championship clubs, per Nixon.
Press Association's Simon Peach acknowledged that signing Bogdan had not proved fruitful for the club:
Following the capture of 22-year-old Loris Karius from Bundesliga outfit Mainz, Bogdan will be the fourth-choice goalkeeper, and Klopp would be willing for the player to depart the club either on a free transfer or on loan.
