Arsenal were hit with a devastating blow when the news that their reliable Brazilian midfielder, Denilson, will miss up to two months after he suffered a back fracture.

The performing Samba star suffered the injury against Manchester City on September 13. Initially, the injury seemed not to be serious, but sadly it was not the case as scans showed the 21-year-old's fracture.

Denilson was featured the most out of any Gunner last season in the English Premier League with 37 appearances. The youngster also impressed greatly with his maturity and leadership.

But as with injuries in any sport, Denilson's pain only opens the door for an up-and-coming, promising youngster: Aaron Ramsey.

The Welsh teenager, who Arsenal managed to sign last summer from Welsh side Cardiff for five million pounds, has seen limited opportunity since joining the North London side. He has only a few Premiership appearances here and there, mostly off the bench, and a few games via the League and FA Cup.

Still at the young and tender age of 18, Ramsey has a massive future.

But when bestowed with opportunity in the Premier League, the Welsh international has often looked nervy and inexperienced.

But now that Denilson has left a gaping hole in the midfield that needs to filled, Ramsey has a crucial chance to prove his worth and get some experience under his belt.

Ramsey is blessed with a sensible passing range and impressive footwork. The former Cardiff man can also be a lethal finisher, having already scored a few impressive goals for Arsene Wenger and the Welsh Under 21's.

Time will tell if Denilson's injury is a perfect chance for Aaron Ramsey to perform.
