Boston To LA and Everything In Between, How I Got Here....
I have decided that I will start writing on a consistent basis and share my experiences, as I venture into a career in the sports industry and recently moved back to Los Angeles. I have had tremendous opportunities which have given me a diverse background.
I was born in Orange County California but raised on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Growing up in the Boston area and living around the tremendous fans in the region, have given me the passion I express through my work in the Sports Industry.
This year I graduated from Bentley University with a degree in Management. I have always wanted to get into sports whether it was playing or running the front office.
I first started getting into communications when I was brought on by the Cape Cod Baseball League in 2006 to write stories for the website. From there I became a sports writer for my schools newspaper.
I have always been one to take on as many experiences that come my way and try to learn as much as I could. In 2008 during the summer before my senior year I was hired as a highlights intern at Fox Sports Net in Los Angeles. Writing highlights was a very different style of writing as it had to be very short and precise to fit into the highlight.
This summer after graduating I was unable to land a fulltime position in the sports inudstry. I have stayed positive and busy by filling my time as a part street team experience with Kraft Sports, volunteer for the Boston Redsox, on-air talent and production assistant for a tv show on NESN, planning committee member for a charity golf tournament, and team lead of volunteers for the Dew Tour, Boston stop.
These experiences have given me the opportunity to play soccer on the field at gilette stadium, tour the back of the house of the TD Garden, dress up as a mascot for the revolution, walk down the same stairs of the patriots at halftime of games, view a game at Fenway park from the pressbox, meet future major league players, have a television show on NESN as well as many others.
All of these experiences and other educational ones have helped shape me to the determined, passionate and open-minded individual I am.
I hope you enjoy reading my sports articles and my experiences as I live in Los Angeles.
