Kurt Busch will sit on the pole for Sunday's Kobalt 400 after topping the field during qualifying on Friday afternoon at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Busch, who is from Las Vegas, captured his second straight Sprint Cup Series' pole with a final-round time of 27.505 seconds. That came after he set a new track record with a time of 27.498 during the opening session.
Joey Logano will join Busch on the front row.
Matt Kenseth, Brad Keselowski and Austin Dillon will round out the top-five starters.
Carl Edwards will be forced to start from the rear of the field after getting loose and smacking the wall during the second qualifying session and tearing up the right-rear of his car.
Bleacher Report will bring you live coverage Sunday of the Kobalt 500 beginning at 3:30 p.m. ET.
