Real Madrid Transfer News: Latest on Robert Lewandowski and Isco Rumours
Robert Lewandowski is open to renewing his contract with Bayern Munich, despite reported interest from Real Madrid.
The Poland international told German publication Sport Bild (h/t Sky Sports) he is aware clubs in Europe want his signature, but he is content with life at the Bundesliga champions:
"I know there is interest for me abroad, but I can well conceive of extending due to a great team and good teamwork - because the club is known to recognise achievements.
Of course I have noticed how the club has been preparing for the future recently. The contract extensions of Jerome Boateng, Thomas Muller and others were a good sign that Bayern can keep its top players despite the money from England.
"

Sky Sports' Spanish football expert Guillem Balague recently said Los Blancos could target the prolific marksman as they look to build a fresh team for the immediate future.
The journalist also confirmed Lewandowski's agent, Cezary Kucharski, attended the Galacticos' recent game against Getafe, sitting with Madrid VIP guests.
Balague said:
"Those in the player's close circle view enormous potential in a possible [Gareth] Bale-Lewandowski partnership and feel the time is right for him to make the move to the Spanish capital.

At 27, Lewandowski would be the ideal piece in a squad renovation project designed to gee up Real's fanbase. The player knows that at Real Madrid, he will have the chance to challenge for individual awards that would be impossible at other clubs.
"

However, despite the claims, it appears the Pole will remain with Bayern if they match his aspirations and expectations.
The No. 9 has been the heartbeat of coach Pep Guardiola's team this season, scoring 28 goals in 26 appearances in the Bundesliga and UEFA Champions League, according to WhoScored.com.
Lewandowski reportedly earns €10 million-per-season after tax at Der FCB, which would force Madrid to push the striker's earnings close to Cristiano Ronaldo's in order to tempt him to the Spanish capital, a move that would make him the second-highest paid player at the club, per Balague.

In other news, Isco has admitted he is "happy" at Madrid after the installation of Zinedine Zidane as coach.
The Spain international told AS (h/t Chisanga Malata of the Daily Star) he is working hard to maintain his place after the change of management at the Santiago Bernabeu.
"Happy? I’m always happy," Isco said. "I’m at Real Madrid and it’s difficult to play all the matches. I worked hard under Benitez and more under Zidane. I’m playing more now, sometimes other teammates play, and it’s important everyone is prepared. We have two competitions that are very long and we have to be 100 per cent."

Arsenal have reportedly tracked the midfielder, according to the Sun (h/t Malata), but the arrival of Zidane has settled the player in his surroundings after finding life difficult under Rafa Benitez.
Isco has always had a strong reputation in La Liga since his younger days and has been appreciated by the Madrid crowd since arriving from Malaga in 2013.
The attacker has never looked out of place in a Madrid shirt, but with the revolving door of superstars constantly turning at Real, his position appeared threatened under Benitez.
Isco will continue to grow under Zidane, and his artistry will be fully appreciated by the Frenchman, who played in a similar position.
