Don't Hate, Appreciate: Why You Should Respect Jeff Hardy!
I decided to right this because of all of the flack I see given to Jeff Hardy. It's not an easy article to write right now as well seeing as he is in trouble for drugs.
He has always been my favorite wrestler, so of course I'm going to be biased. I want to point out many of the things put against Jeff and crush them in this article and even though it probably won't turn you into a Hardy fan, maybe it will give you a little more incentive not to hate on him as much as many of you do.
1. Jeff Hardy can't wrestle!
Ok, so Jeff Hardy isn't the best technical wrestler in the world. He is a good a Car-Crash wrestler. He wants to get excitement from the crowd. He doesn't necessarily have to be the best technical wrestler in the world.
Saying that he isn't a good wrestler isn't completely true, though. I have seen him put on good technical matches with both Triple H and Shelton Benjamin. He does have some wrestling ability; it's just not as good as some might want.
Here's how I see it though. It's Sports ENTERTAINMENT. Jeff was good at what he did. He entertained the fans night in and night out. If you really want to see a good technical match then watch College wrestling on ESPN, because WWE isn't for you.
2. Jeff Hardy is on drugs.
Like I said not an easy article to write at this point because of his current issue. Jeff has been involved with drugs.
There are very few WWE superstars who have not been on some kind of drugs at one point or the other. I can look at quite a few of the WWE superstars and it doesn't take a genius to figure out they were on steroids.
One of the favorite wrestlers of the internet community, Brian Kendrick, may have gotten fired because of smoking too much marijuana.
Shawn Michaels didn't exactly start out the perfect person either. He was doing drugs before he left WWE and became a Christian.
Stone Cold Steve Austin was a wife beater. He was in trouble for this but most people tend to forget that little fact.
The Rock left wrestling fans high and dry for movies and no one can deny that. Fact is Jefff Hardy does drugs, but not even a favorite wrestler like Stone Cold is perfect.
3. Jeff Hardy only attracts Kids to the WWE.
This is not true by any means. The kids liked Jeff there is no denying that. You can't honestly say that you didn't see plenty of Adult fans on the front rows cheering Jeff too. I know I did.
When Jeff was still with WWE, he attracted all kinds of fans, not just kids. I am a 19 year old and I am probably one of the biggest Jeff fans out there. My brother and quite a few friends who are all adults are big fans of Jeff.
If you want to say Jeff only attracts kids that's fine, but you are lying to yourself for the simple reason that you just don't like Jeff.
4. Jeff Hardy has no mic skills.
I can't deny that one. When Jeff talks, I cringe. Everyone's got their bad points, though.
5. Jeff Hardy doesn't care about his fans or wrestling.
If that was really true, do you think he would jump off the crap he does? He jumped off a 30 foot scaffold once. He didn't do that because it made him happy. He did it to excite the fans plain and simple.
He wanted all of the fans to get something out of it. Everyone that was watching that night remembered what he did. That's the way it is with most of his matches. He always wanted to leave somebody with something to remember in almost every match he was in.
He may like getting the money. Who doesn't? It's a job, just like anything else. He goes out there to make money. He doesn't have to do anything to put himself at risk, but he does so that someone can say: Man, I can't believe he did that.
He put his body on the line every time he got in that ring. He excited fans, and did his job. Jeff Hardy was one of the best.
I know most of you are stuck in your face-hating ways. I hope this enlightened you a little though. I hope it made you think every time you hate on him. He is one of the better things to come to WWE in a while.
It sucks that there's a possiblity that we won't see him in WWE again, but every wrestler has to go at some point.
In the end, Jeff Hardy is one of the best the WWE has had in a long time and his name will most definitely be seen in WWE Hall of Fame one day.
6. Jeff isn't a good champion.
A lot of people didn't believe Jeff was a good champion. Jeff was not only a good champion, he was one of the best in a long time.
WWE gives the belt to a certain worker in hopes that they will draw ratings. Jeff did just that, J.R. said in his blog that the Smackdown after Night of Champions had some of the highest ratings ever.
His name was also the hot topic on Twitter. Basically Jeff as Champion is Money, and Vince loves Money.
