BREAKING NEWS: Nuggets Sign Joey Graham

News from my man Travis Heath from hoopsworld.com is that Denver is in the process of signing swingman Joey Graham to a non-guaranteed contract.

Graham will be the 13th man on the Nuggets' roster and will be the backup small forward behind Carmelo Anthony.

Graham, at 6'7", averaged seven points a game last year to go along with three rebounds.  His three point percentage was bad last year at 18 percent, but he has a career average of 31 percent, which is right under the average for "good" three point shooters.

Graham will fit in nicely with Denver's bench and his 7-10 points a game will help the defensive-oriented bench that Denver will throw on the floor.  Graham has decent defense, but it won't really be a factor due to the fact that Chris "Birdman" Anderson, Anthony Carter and Arron Afflalo are all defensive specialists.

Travis Heath also talked about how well Afflalo has done this offseason and he believes Afflalo will step up offensively as well.  Throw Graham in with Afflalo and Ty Lawson and Denver has a well-balanced bench.

Expect players such as Coby Karl, Richard Hendrix and Rob Kurz to get training camp invites and at least one of them to make the roster for the first seven games to help fill the void of JR Smith and Renaldo Balkman's absence.

Also, expect newly-acquired James White to make the opening night roster to help the bench and provide depth.
