Adam Lallana Injury: Liverpool Star Injures Groin vs. Swansea City
Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana hobbled out of his team's clash with Swansea City in the Premier League on Saturday.
The news of the injury was confirmed by the official Fantasy Premier League Twitter account, with Daniel Sturridge replacing the playmaker in the first period:
After the match, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp told reporters Lallana wouldn't play for England during the upcoming international break as a result of the groin injury he picked up against the Swans.
It's a blow for both player and club since Lallana has improved his form for the Reds in advanced areas.
The England playmaker has become a more frequent contributor since Klopp succeeded Brendan Rodgers as manager. The former Southampton star can play in Liverpool's midfield or fluid front three, combining well with players such as Roberto Firmino, Philippe Coutinho and Sadio Mane.
Klopp's expansive brand of football has made excellent use of Lallana's technique, intelligence and flair. The 28-year-old playmaker's perceptive movement, speed of thought and exceptional vision are ideal qualities for the type of game Klopp preaches.
Lallana's versatility and creative verve make him a very useful member of the squad Klopp is attempting to shape at Anfield, and the German will be hopeful the hard-working former Southampton man makes a swift recovery.
Lallana's technical aptitude separates him from many English midfielders. But he must stay fit to stamp his authority at both club and international level.
