Briscoe's Father Comments on Injury

"Definitely negative, so we're happy about that," George Briscoe said to Adam Zagoria of SNY.tv. "He's doing fine, the doctor called us and said he's fine. He said he's gotta stay off of it for a couple days. It's swollen but just stay off of it for a couple of days."
"He'll be good," Briscoe added.
Briscoe Injured in Pregame Warm-Ups
Saturday, Dec. 26
According to Chip Patterson of CBS Sports, Briscoe was left out of Kentucky's starting lineup after injuring his ankle during pregame warm-ups.
Keith Garrett of A Sea of Blue tweeted out a video of Briscoe limping on the court in his warm-up uniform:
Briscoe Vital to Wildcats Despite Extensive Talent on Roster
Seen by most as a first-round NBA lock, Briscoe's off to a solid start to his collegiate career. He's averaging 11.5 points, 5.6 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game and doing a lot of damage working his way to the basket.
The Wildcats haven't made Briscoe their primary point guard with Tyler Ulis also in the fold, but Briscoe is a skilled ball-handler in the open court.
This isn't last year's Kentucky team, which was filled with so many 5-star recruits that losing one didn't hurt. If Briscoe is forced to miss extended time, it's going to make things hard for John Calipari.
Kentucky has a solid amount of guard talent, but there's a reason Briscoe ranks third on the team in minutes per game. The Wildcats need him on both ends of the floor to play at their best.
