Fantasy Baseball Weekly Wonders Vol. 8
Enough programming notes. On the meat.
Pitcher
Glen Perkins - I know it’s only a week, but some of the pitchers I’ve profiled on the Weekly Wonders (John Danks, Edison Volquez, Greg Smith, Daniel Cabrera) have kept it up. This week I profile Minnesota native and Twins pitcher Glen Perkins. In his two starts last week he allowed 3 Earned Runs in 12 Innings (1.93 ERA). He struck out 7 with just 2 Walks in his first two career Wins. Bartolo Colon is a hot pickup too, but he’s much higher profile.
Catcher
Miguel Olivo - Kansas City’s Miguel Olivo had a solid week going 5 for 12 (.417) with 1 Run, 2 Doubles, a HR, 5 HRs, and even a SB. He has a hit in three straight games.
Corner Infielder
Kevin Kouzmanoff - San Diego’s 3rd Baseman Kouzmanoff was on fire last week going 10 for 26 (385) with 6 Runs, 4 HRs, 7 RBI, and a pair of Walks. He had four multiple hit games last week.
Middle Infielder
Marco Scutaro - Toronto’s Scutaro was solid last week going 8 for 23 (.348) with 4 Runs, a Double, a HR, 5 RBI, 3 Walks, and a SB. He had three multiple hit games. As an added bonus, in Yahoo leagues he qualifies at 2B, 3B, SS, and OF.
Outfielder
Jack Cust - Oakland’s Cust continued to rake last week going 5 for 15 (.333) with 6 Runs, a Double, 3 HRs, 7 RBI, and 4 Walks. He scored at least a Run in five of six games last week.
