WWE TLC 2015: Titles Most Likely to Change Hands at Event

Donald WoodNov 28, 2015

There is no question WWE’s 2015 edition of the TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs pay-per-view is a secondary event, and championships changing hands at shows like this isn't usually likely.

This time, however, the WWE World Heavyweight Championship could easily change hands, and secondary belts such as the Divas and Tag Team Championships are also likely to be contested in battles that could go either way.

Here are the most likely title changes that could take place at WWE TLC on December 13.

WWE World Heavyweight Championship

It has already been announced that Roman Reigns and Sheamus will go to battle in a TLC match at the December PPV, and it’s clear from the television ratings, per f4wonline, the current game plan for the title scene is not working.

Whether the plan was to allow Reigns beat Seth Rollins at Survivor Series or not, the hope now is that Sheamus has a short run with the belt. WrestleMania season is almost upon us, and Reigns as champion moving forward is the most likely option.

WWE officials will push him as a top face with the title, and if it doesn’t work, the WWE Universe could see a major heel turn that would set up a marquee WrestleMania match, maybe even against Dean Ambrose.

Of all the championships that will be contended at TLC, the world title is most likely to change hands.

Tag Team Championships

All signs point toward the Tag Team Championships being contested at TLC, but the teams involved are not totally clear. Right now, WWE is positioning The New Day against both The Usos and The Lucha Dragons.

The world title match already has the Tables, Ladders and Chairs stipulation, so the idea these three teams could possibly face off in a ladder match—or another interesting gimmick match—should be enough to entice the WWE Universe.

The New Day has been great as champions, but WWE could be looking to add another face champion to the roster. With the return of The Usos and The Lucha Dragons getting a new push, a surprise championship shift is possible.

Divas Championship

It’s hard to imagine Charlotte losing the title to Paige after successfully defending the Divas Championship against her twice in a row, but the fact this storyline is continuing could be an indication there will be a questionable finish that includes a title change.

Paige has continued to use her dreaded announce-table PTO on Charlotte, and the feud is clearly continuing into the TLC PPV. While many thought Sasha Banks would be getting a title shot soon, that’s doesn't seem to be the direction the company is going with in the immediate future.

If the Divas Championship changes hands at TLC, wrestling fans should expect a multi-person bout for the Championship at the Royal Rumble. Charlotte is likely to retain the belt, but a title change could easily take place.
