Latest on Collins' Timeline for Return

Collins Undergoes Surgery

Tuesday, Oct. 4

During an appearance on 105.3 The Fan, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Collins had surgery that will end his campaign, per Davison.

Todd Archer of ESPN.com previously reported on the procedure, noting Collins would be placed on injured reserve while he recovers.

Collins Has Enjoyed Successful Start to NFL Career

Collins, a potential first-round pick during the early stages of last year's draft process, ended up going undrafted because of off-field question marks. The Cowboys signed him as a free agent, though, and he's proved to be worth the investment, developing into a stabilizing force up front.

The 23-year-old LSU product has been durable throughout his career. The only notable issue that arose during his rookie campaign was an ankle injury that cost him one game last year.
