Asia Cup : An Opportunity?
The Indian Premier League is about to come to an end after a month's non stop entertainment but the game will now move on to the ODI version of the game with the Trination Series in Bangladesh featuring Pakistan, India and Bangladesh followed by the Asia Cup in Pakistan featuring India, Pakistan, Hong Kong, UAE, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh battling it out for Asian Cricket Supremacy.
Before that we have Australia and West Indies playing a Test series in the Caribbean and I was very excited by the first test which the Australians won by 90 odd runs because the Windies batting lineup failed in the second innings.

England are also playing New Zealand and the hosts have been all over the Kiwis in the initial stage of the series.
The Asia Cup features six countries but the battle is ultimately bound to be about India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and perhaps Bangladesh. These are the four test nations competing in the competition with Hong Kong and UAE being the minnows.
The Asia Cup is widely awaited by both English and Asian audiences especially in the subcontinent.
What team will India bring to Pakistan? Will Dhoni be retained as captain?
Has Ganguly done enough to impress the selectors? Will Sreesanth lead the attack? What does the future hold for Sehwag and Tendulkar?
All these questions will be answered.
The hosts have huge expectations coming into the competition, can star all rounder Shahid Afridi (pictured above) finally fire after a disappointing IPL showing?
Can Shoaib Malik lead the Greens to Asian Supremacy? Will Misbah,Yousuf and Younis be strong enough to hold the middle order? Can Sohail Tanvir and Umar Gul continue their good form?
Well we have some entertaining Cricket coming our way in the next few months and let's not forget the Champions Trophy which is also set to be held in Pakistan.
