WWE's Top Tweets, Instagram Photos and Viral Videos for Week of Nov. 9

Ryan DilbertNov 13, 2015

Tributes inspired WWE's best social media this week; tributes to Undertaker, a man who has been driving opponents' heads into the canvas for a quarter century and Eddie Guerrero, a man we lost too soon.

Heading into Survivor Series, the event where The Deadman debuted in 1990, WWE has been aiming the spotlight on Undertaker's past. That included a photo gallery of unseen Undertaker pics and a compilation of his trademark match-ending move.

In addition to that and wrestlers tipping their hats to Guerrero, WWE-related tweets, videos and Instagram photos featured a slap from a striker, forgotten Brock Lesnar foes and a powerful message from Seth Rollins.

We begin with that last item. Last week, the WWE champ tore a mess of ligaments in his knee. WWE then stripped him of his title. All the momentum he had built up this past year sputtered out, as he now has to focus on post-surgery rehab.

Rollins, though, is seeing things in a positive light. On Instagram, he posted what appears to be his mantra during his recovery:

WWE is certainly hurting due to Rollins' absence, but it helps to have had added Alberto Del Rio to the mix again. The United States champion is thriving in the ring. His and Zeb Colter's attempts to form the new nation of MexAmerica hasn't been a great angle, though.

It may not lead anywhere storyline-wise, but at least it led to a mock video game from Wrestling Arcade:

In addition to being in a fake version of Road Rage, Del Rio is in the tournament to name the next WWE world champion. A monster who would have been the favorite in that tourney is absent from the competition. WWE decided not to bring The Beast Incarnate back early to battle Del Rio, Roman Reigns and company.

The only Lesnar fix fans got was a fun look at some of the opponents fans may not remember him facing. His win over Rob Van Dam at the King of the Ring tournament sticks in one's mind. His early triumph over Bubba Ray Dudley, not so much:

The man Lesnar bloodied at Hell in a Cell is the clear centerpiece of the build toward Survivor Series. His career highlights have flashed on the screen on Raw and on YouTube

WWE has also pulled out previously unseen pics of The Deadman. One of the most striking is one the company posted on Instagram as well:

Seeing the heads of his victims laid out at his feet like that is unsettling, as is the smile on Sycho Sid's face. These are just a few of the men who have been on the wrong end of a Tombstone Piledriver.

In what must have been a painstaking process, WWE found every Tombstone Undertaker ever delivered on TV and spliced it all together:

The video is no longer accurate, though. It needs Brad Maddox dressed like a turkey at the end to make it complete.

Undertaker made a surprise appearance on The Tonight Show. Per a fan's request, Undertaker then proceeded to plant a costumed Maddox:

That was not the only headline-generating attack of the week. Wayne Rooney showed up on Monday's Raw and by the end of the night had WWE's name pop up in a variety of outlets.

He and King Barrett had words at ringside. The Manchester United star then handed Barrett a hard one to the face (h/t BBC Sport):

Fans needed a light moment like that and Undertaker's turkey Tombstone. It helped balance out the tearful memories that surely popped up for many when the 10-year anniversary of Guerrero's passing arrived.

Guerrero was a beloved star by the crowd, but also by many in the industry. A pair of show-stealing wrestlers made sure to honor Latino Heat.

Bayley reflected on Guerrero's championship win in 2004:

Sasha Banks tweeted about the influence he had on her:

Guerrero didn't get the chance to celebrate 25 years in WWE. He passed away at just 38. His life was too damn short, and it hurts thinking how helpless we all are to change that.

Fans can only do what Bayley and Banks did—remember and thank him.
