Penn State: Week Four Match-Up

Steven SwansonContributor ISeptember 21, 2009

In week four, Penn State is going to play the Iowa Hawkeyes. The game that last year, crushed Penn State's hopes for a National Championship. For Penn State, this is going to be a revenge game. For the Hawkeyes, this is just another game. Lets take a look.

Quarterback:

Penn State - Daryll Clark is an amazing quarterback. He has power, accuracy, and he can scramble. Already this year he has eight touchdowns, six passing and two rushing, and 760 yards.

Hawkeyes - Ricky Stanzi is a well defined quarterback. With five touchdowns and 644 yards, he has proven he can be lethal.

After comparing the two, I give the advantage to Penn State.

Rushing Attack:

Penn State - With Evan Royster, Penn State has a very very good back. In the first three games he has 3 touchdowns, 236 yards and is averaging 5.2 yards a carry. Even with the back-up speedster Stephfon Green, Penn State is set for running back.

Hawkeyes - Adam Robinson is a well rounded back. He has 3 touchdowns, 233 yards and is averaging 5.2 yards a carry.

It's close, but I give the advantage to Penn State.

Receivers:

Penn State - Last year, Penn State lost all three of their star receivers. This year they seem to be reloading pretty quick though. Derek Moye, Chaz Powell, and Graham Zug could easily end up being the next Norwood, Williams, and Butler. All three have over 100 yards, combine for five touchdowns, and two of the three are averaging over ten yards a catch.

Hawkeyes - Tony Moeaki, Trey Stross, and Marvin McNutt are three very good receivers. Two of the three have over 100 yards and average over ten yards a catch. But with all of them combined, they have only one touchdown.

I have to give the advantage to Penn State.

Defence:

Penn State - With Jared Odrick, Navorro Bowman, and Sean Lee Penn State has their defence on lock. In the first three games Penn State has only allowed 20 points. These three are a big reason why.

Hawkeyes - Tyler Sash and Brett Greenwood are two amazing players. Both dominated in Iowa's last week win against Arizona.

Even though, I still give it to Penn State.

Penn State: 4

Hawkeyes: 0

My Prediction: 35-14 PSU
