Next up? The finale of The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America 2 on Saturday.

The UFC is poised to put on its third card in Mexico...and it's actually pretty solid. The preliminary card isn't necessarily stacked, but it features a few recognizable names in Scott Jorgensen, Erik Perez and Taylor Lapilus.

More importantly, though, is the trio of fights atop the card with serious Top 10 ramifications. Diego Sanchez is set to face Ricardo Lamas in a deceptively important featherweight fight, while Henry Cejudo and Jussier da Silva are likely competing for a shot at Demetrious Johnson's flyweight title. Oh, and the main event? Kelvin Gastelum is returning to 170 pounds to take on Neil Magny in a high-risk affair.

So what topics are worth discussing around the water cooler? What questions are about to warp your monitor with their sheer heat? Find out here!

Is This Scott Jorgensen's Last Stand?

1 of 5

The Fight: Scott Jorgensen vs. Alejandro Perez
The Real Fight: Scott Jorgensen vs. His Dreadful Record

The Stakes

Scott Jorgensen is one of the most veteran members of the UFC's lower weight classes...and that's kind of surprising considering how many losses he has to his name. He's 2-7 since 2012, which makes it somewhat odd that Jorgensen is still with the UFC at this point. Given the still-in-progress purge of the roster, however, it's unlikely he could survive another L.

The Question

Is this Scott Jorgensen's last stand?

Analysis

Jorgensen has been a staple of the WEC and UFC bantamweight divisions since 2008, but after a certain point in his career, he just seemed to fall apart. He has lost all but two of his fights since 2012, with those wins coming over complete unknowns in Danny Martinez and John Albert (who have a combined UFC record of 1-7).

Yes, of course, it's worth noting that Jorgensen has faced some stiff competition. The only fighter that he lost to who isn't currently in the UFC rankings is Manny Gamburyan, and he is no slouch, either.

Still, a loss is a loss, and Jorgensen has too many of them to excuse. If he can't get through Alejandro Perez, a relative newcomer from Mexico, it's pretty much impossible to justify him remaining in the UFC.

Who Will Become the Top Contender in the Flyweight Division?

2 of 5

The Fight: Jussier da Silva vs. Henry Cejudo
The Real Fight: Henry Cejudo, Jussier da Silva vs. High-Stakes Bouts

The Stakes

For the first time since John Lineker vs. Ali Bagautinov, the flyweight division has a compelling, clear-cut top contender's bout in Jussier da Silva vs. Henry Cejudo. The stakes are clear, with the winner of this fight almost certainly getting the chance to move on to a title fight opposite Demetrious Johnson.

The Question

Who will become the top contender in the flyweight division?

Analysis

The first name crossed off the list was John Moraga. Then the door closed on Joseph Benavidez. Then Bagautinov. Then Chris Cariaso and Kyoji Horiguchi. Then, at long last, John Dodson. Mighty Mouse has been able to defeat nearly every relevant flyweight with such efficiency that the UFC is in a spot where it needs to keep introducing new names in order to make his fights even remotely marketable.

That's been difficult, given matchmaker Sean Shelby's strange insistence on feeding top-ranked fighters any prospect who starts to get a bit hot. Luckily, however, the UFC has chanced its way into a legitimate top contender's bout here.

Cejudo's wrestling pedigree and undefeated record will be more than deserving of a shot at gold if he can add a Top Five name such as Da Silva to his resume. Da Silva, on the other hand, has managed to work past the ugly 1-2 start to his UFC career and assert his place among the division's best. This is an intriguing fight and is easily the most important on this card.

How Will Diego Sanchez Look at 145 Pounds?

3 of 5

The Fight: Ricardo Lamas vs. Diego Sanchez
The Real Fight: Diego Sanchez vs. Uncertain Goals

The Stakes

In what would be a strange twist with most fighters, TUF 1 winner Diego Sanchez is officially set to drop to 145 pounds. Not only that, but he is set to make his featherweight debut opposite No. 4-ranked Ricardo Lamas. Needless to say, this is a colossal opportunity for Sanchez, who could be poised to jump into the title picture if he can pull off a win.

The Question

How will Diego Sanchez look at 145 pounds?

Analysis

This is some genius matchmaking by the UFC. Sanchez, despite his recent struggles, is one of the most popular fighters in the UFC, and Dana White and Co. probably want him to be poised and ready to face Conor McGregor in 2016. A win over Lamas would set that up brilliantly...but can he pull it off?

Sanchez having difficult weight cuts has never really been part of the news cycle surrounding him, and the only real gaffe of note is coming in two pounds heavy for his 2013 bout with Takanori Gomi. Still, the fact that a substantial chunk of his career was spent at 170 pounds definitely makes one wonder...

Regardless, this is a huge fight for both men, and it is the clear favorite to win Fight of the Night. Get excited.

How Will Kelvin Gastelum Look in His Return to Welterweight?

4 of 5

The Fight: Kelvin Gastelum vs. Neil Magny
The Real Fight: Kelvin Gastelum vs. His Intense Love of Burger King

The Stakes

Kelvin Gastelum is set to fight at 170 pounds for the first time since coming in 10 pounds heavy against Tyron Woodley at UFC 183. A seriously talented fighter who worked his way into the welterweight Top 10 discussion, he could be set to make noise...if he can conquer the scale.

The Question

How will Kelvin Gastelum look in his return to welterweight?

Analysis

Gastelum had about as hot a start as one can get following a season of The Ultimate Fighter. He won the tournament by scoring a huge upset over Uriah Hall and scored four more victories after dropping to 170 pounds, including wins over Rick Story and Jake Ellenberger.

But while Gastelum was money on fight night, he was terrible the day before, frequently struggling with cuts and twice missing weight. The second offense was so egregious that UFC brass forced him, against his wishes, to move up to 185 pounds.

He made it through middleweight purgatory by laying the smacketh down on Nate Marquardt and, with the UFC paying a nutritionist for him (which is blatantly unethical, I might add), is now looking to storm his way back into the 170-pound Top 10.

Neil Magny is a stiff test for his return but isn't an especially dangerous opponent for him. It will be interesting to see if Gastelum looks better, worse or the same in his second run at 170.

Can Neil Magny Score His Biggest Win to Date?

5 of 5

The Fight: Kelvin Gastelum vs. Neil Magny
The Real Fight: Neil Magny vs. The Hump

The Stakes

Neil Magny's seven-fight winning streak came to an abrupt end when he faced off with Demian Maia, but he has since returned to the win column by thoroughly roughing up Erick Silva. Now, he has a big opportunity in front of him. Replacing Matt Brown in the TUF: Latin America 2 finale main event, he has the chance to regain much of the momentum he lost in August by defeating Kelvin Gastelum.

The Question

Can Neil Magny score his biggest win to date?

Analysis

Magny's 8-3 UFC record is impressive, but the biggest name on his resume is Tim Means or the aforementioned fourth-best Silva in the UFC (counting Jussier da Silva, not counting Seohee "Hamderlei Silva" Ham). Maia is the only legitimate high-tier welterweight Magny has faced, and the devastating nature of that loss felt like an absolute killer for any title hopes.

If he can get through Gastelum, however, it will restart the discussion of Magny's standing as a legitimate contender in the welterweight division. If he can't, though, it will likely bury him for the foreseeable future. This is a make-or-break fight.
