Mike Mularkey Hired as Titans Head Coach

The Tennessee Titans announced they have hired Mike Mularkey as their permanent head coach. Adam Schefter of ESPN initially reported the news. The team originally announced that it interviewed Mularkey for the head coaching position on Jan. 15.

Horton Drew Interest from Titans

ESPN's Josina Anderson reported Titans defensive coordinator Ray Horton was set to interview for the head coaching position on Saturday.


Marrone Interviewed with Titans

Thursday, Jan. 14

Jacksonville Jaguars assistant head coach for offense and offensive line coach Doug Marrone met with the Titans on Thursday, announced the team.

Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official website added details regarding Marrone's interview: "Among the group Marrone met with today included Titans controlling owner Amy Adams Strunk and Kenneth Adams IV from the ownership group, President Steve Underwood, and Jon Robinson, who on Thursday agreed in principle to serve as the team’s general manager."


McDaniels Didn't Interview for Job

Rapoport reported McDaniels isn't interviewing for head coaching jobs before this weekend. 

CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reported on Jan. 3 that the Titans and New York Giants would be the two positions most likely to get the attention of New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels. ESPN's John Clayton, via ESPN.com, citing sources, reported on Thursday that McDaniels was interested in the Titans position.


Gase Was Considered

McCormick reported Adam Gase was "expected to draw attention" from the Titans.


Jackson Reportedly Drew Titans' Interest

Monday, Jan. 4

Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reported on Nov. 19 then Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Hue Jackson had emerged as a potential candidate in Nashville. Rapoport noted that Jackson is a hot candidate and that the Titans are interested in landing him. McCormick reiterated that Jackson is a potential candidate.
